Courthouse Administrative Assistant

Applications will be accepted at the Clerk & Recorder’s office until position is filled for an Administrative Assistant for both the Powell County Attorney and the Planning Department. Time and work will be split between the two offices. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and general office practices and be skilled at working with the public in person and on the telephone. The job requires lifting full file boxes up to 25 pounds. This is a full-time position with benefits. The Powell County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for the position of full time 911 Dispatcher.

 Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor.  Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing;  speak clearly; relay messages quickly and accurately; use a computer and keyboard; operate dispatch equipment including telephones and radios; research and retrieve information from records and document calls accurately.

Duties: Dispatch law enforcement, fire and medical and public works personnel for service either by phone or two-way radio. Receive and prioritize calls for service including 911 calls which may be informational, urgent or emergency in nature. Enter, retrieve and disseminate confidential and sensitive records and documents from several computer databases. Perform criminal history and traffic record checks utilizing a centralized computer system. Assist with inmates as needed. Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends. Applicants must be willing to be fingerprinted as part of a thorough background/criminal history check and will be required to satisfactorily complete on-the-job training and successfully complete basic training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy.
