Our Purpose
The purpose of the weed board is to promote pro-active noxious weed management in Powell County. We do this through various avenues which include: landowner education and outreach; prevention; agreements for weed management on public lands; cost-share programs; biological control programs; assisting private owners with weed management strategies, providing information on research and the newest technology and our “no-cost” spraying and seeding equipment loan program.
Powell County has 13 established Cooperative Weed Management Areas (CWMAs). A map can be found here.
A CWMA for the Blackfoot River and Clark Fork River also exist, but are not shown on this map.
To read more about CWMAs and available resources – see this helpful brochure, developed by Montana State University.
