This website provides information on Driver Services, Licensing Motor Vehicles and On-line Vehicle Registration Renewal Service that are available through the Montana Department of Justice Motor Vehicle Division.
Powell County Treasurers office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM except legal Holidays.
Vehicle Transactions: Please arrive by 4:30 to allow time for the transfer to be completed. Bring your Montana issued Driver License along with vehicle title documents (unless your title documents are already in our office.)
If you do not have a Montana Driver License (please bring 2 forms of residency (such as power bill, internet bill, insurance card, pay stub, phone bill, tax bill, lease agreement (showing your name and residential address) A PO Box is not accepted as valid proof of residency.
If your Montana Driver License does not show your Powell County address, bring 1 form of proof of residency from list above.
Renewals: Please bring your blue renewal card issued by the state, your plate number or your prior registration. (We are unable to look up this information by name).
